Fifth House is a hard-hitting funk-rock outfit straight from the mountains of North Carolina. Garnering influences from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Parliament, Motown and Muscle Shoals, Fifth House seamlessly marries great lyricism, catchy hooks and some of the tightest live performances going. From the edgy funk of New York, the soul-strut of New Orleans and the electronica of the West Coast, Fifth House promises something for every listener. Someone once described it as “tripadeliafunkmorgastic, paradigm-shifting, soul-lifting music”. In other words, it’s going to get you moving.

It starts with the drums. Mike Ashworth leads the band through every twist and turn with power and authority. Rob Heyer provides the bass work, dwelling in the lowest regions of the pocket making it impossible to stay in ones seat. Next up is the grinding organ and some of the south’s nastiest clavinet courtesy of Kevin Scala. Corey Bullman provides the lead vocals and soaring guitar pushing the band into overdrive. After going into hiatus in 2000 the members of Fifth House went on to support such acclaimed local bands as The Jaimee Tomas Band, The Royal We, and Big Radio to name a few. Now after almost four years apart, with plenty of woodshedding under their belts, Fifth House is reforming into one of the most powerful bands the southeast has seen in a long time.
